Nice read. As an outsider from Sweden trying to learn Irish, I have to say that Gaeilge is a pretty difficult language when you approach it from a Germanic speaking background. I realise that I share this linguistical handicap with most people on (deliberate choice of preposition) Ireland, including the author of the article.

To me it's not a real problem, because the difference that makes it difficult also is what makes it so interesting. But were I an Irish person, trying to reclaim my national language - I can imagine some frustration.
