Thank you to the #ADHD, #Dyslexic and #VisionImpaired people here on mastadon who asked for audiobooks of my writings. The more people tell me their access needs, the better position I am in to encourage/ convince my publishers to make my work #Accessible.

Delighted my latest publisher agreed to make an #Audiobook of Wired Our Own Way; An Anthology of #Autistic Irish voices, which will be released tomorrow. Not sure all the platforms it will be on yet.

"In the world of #Palestinian activism, the plight of autistic people is often overlooked...Speaking about the plight of our #autistic friends and family members can loosen the clutches ever so slightly. In a world where Palestinians are constantly and aggressively silenced, these #voices [also] need to be heard."

April is Autism Acceptance Month:
Every person with autism needs support but people who does not fall into the categories accepted by the majority of so called normal people for "true" autism rarely receive it (even the level of support that normal people usually receive).

Can anyone recommend LGBT #romance #books to me?

I've been having some luck sinking my teeth into #ND (especially #autistic) romance over NT romance (which I just kind of don't understand & usually ends up bumming me out), but so far it's all been very straight/het. I particularly like realistic romance where people communicate clearly & things like stalking aren't romanticised.

Thank you ♥️

Why is it always so stressful trying to make a complaint to a company/bank these days?🤔

Well,
1) Sending me a message via online banking message about their branch closing in a town I haven't lived in for 14 years, even though they put my correct/current address at the top as if it were a posted letter 🤦🤦‍♂️🤦‍♀️.
2) All details of alternatives in the old town I've not lived in for over a decade, present!
3) All details of alternatives in the current town I live in & have done for over a decade, tumbleweed has more presence.🤯

4) Online 24/7 help not working & hitting the Retry button just repeats the fail.😠
5) DDG to the rescue but could they(the bank) just give me a frelling postal address?
... Nope!
6) Find working online complaint page.
7) Yay! I should no in '...four days...' once I've completed this form.
8) Starts simple but then the Qs get more ambigious, my complaint might be to do with that option or it might not. If only there was a blue circle with one of these❕ that I could hover the mouse over for more info.😡📈
9) Finally done > SUBMIT
10) Nope, I missed something? Then why the F did it not show me when I was at that part of the FRELLING form⁉️📈🤬
11) Success❕ Or was it?
It will take 1 - 8 weeks before they get can deal with the thing & that long for them to get back to me about it.
What happened to FOUR DAYS❗🤬⁉️📈🤬

Guess I best forget about it so I can have a nice surprise in 1 - 8 weeks... or not 🤷.

I'm probably tempting fate but after 7 days of severe brain fog — so severe that for a few days I felt like a passenger trapped in a me sized, remote controlled cyborg.

Rethinking my allergic reaction as it's still going strong (gave up my 1 a day Matcha(=caffeine) habit just over a week ago). Though as I type this, it dawns that this might be the cause of my severe brain fog / disembodiment.

It's good to finally be getting back to feeling human or wherever I'm supposed to be.

It feels good to finally have enough dice / spoons / focus / energy / dilithium / micro-blackholes to interact with the fediverse again.

Fortsatt tråd

Also about Autism Acceptance Month: @stimpunks has a great list of articles about how you can be an ally not only in April but all year round:

I know I've posted in the autism-related hashtags a few times in the last hour. I'm not used to posting so much (will stop now) – I just thought this information is timely to share with April coming soon. Consider it an infodump / penguin pebbling! ❤️

@actuallyautistic

Maybe it's because I'm #autistic but this shit is the opposite of helpful when you're lacking the word for a specific complex emotion (especially if it isn't your mothers tongue you're lacking it in, as emotions often don't have 1:1 translations).

Also google image searching for emotions is similarly shit.

Is there a kind of picture database with people showing all different kinds of emotions in real world settings to scroll through with descriptions in multiple languages?

Exciting to see the #book I edited about #Autistic Irish adults so prominently displayed in a bookshop- not confined to psychology or self help as usual, but displayed on a "State of the Nation" stand right inside thr door of Hodges Figgis, Dublin.
