AngusOfStockholm<a href="https://mastodon.nu/tags/Jolla" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#Jolla</a> with <a href="https://mastodon.nu/tags/SailfishOS" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#SailfishOS</a> in 2014 was still (as it was unsurprisingly pretty similar to the <a href="https://mastodon.nu/tags/NokiaN9" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#NokiaN9</a>) a very different user experience to the mainstream OSes because of its gesture-based interface. Compared to the underpowered linux-based mobile phone OSes available around that time, I think Jolla felt advanced because it still had a lot of DNA from the extensive development it underwent way back in the glory days of <a href="https://mastodon.nu/tags/Nokia" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#Nokia</a>. As a phone it was fine, but very limited as a modern "pocket computer".

AngusOfStockholmThe ad for the <a href="https://mastodon.nu/tags/GalaxyZFlip4" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#GalaxyZFlip4</a> is in heavy rotation in <a href="https://mastodon.nu/tags/bioreklam" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#bioreklam</a>, which has been making me consider the whole <a href="https://mastodon.nu/tags/iPhone" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#iPhone</a> vs <a href="https://mastodon.nu/tags/android" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#android</a> conundrum. Over the years I’ve had both, but I’ve also had others - and I mean in the <a href="https://mastodon.nu/tags/smartphone" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#smartphone</a> era. I have a non-mainstream phone now which I’ll get to talking about later, but my first alt-phone was a <a href="https://mastodon.nu/tags/NokiaN9" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#NokiaN9</a> that ran <a href="https://mastodon.nu/tags/Harmattan" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#Harmattan</a> which was an offshoot of <a href="https://mastodon.nu/tags/Maemo" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#Maemo</a> and/or <a href="https://mastodon.nu/tags/MeeGo" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#MeeGo</a> Linux.
