I'm at 3 USB A to C cables that my #purism #librem5 somehow has turned into "slow charging cables". Is anyone else having this issue? I can't prove with certainty that it's the Librem 5 doing it, but it's the common denominator.
For what it's worth, the charging is slow even if I use a different device, adapter, and power source.
@newbyte I don't follow... What would "fast charging A to C cable" even mean? The only way an A to C cable can differentiate is by whether it carries USB 2.0/3.0 signals or not.
@pavel @dos Sorry, I should've been more clear about this in the original post. I meant "slow charging" as in "so slow that Android notifies you that it's slow". However, I may have jumped the gun with posting this, I haven't really tested this much, just thought about asking given a recent experience where someone borrowed one of my cables that seem to have gone bad from use with the Librem 5 and she complained about the charging being slow.
@newbyte Try to use the official charger or their 65w charger. The docs mention flipping cables if using 3rd party ones:
https://docs.puri.sm/Hardware/Librem_5/Troubleshooting/Charging.html
You can post in their forums too. Btw, I'm using a 2m Belkin cable with an old Samsung charger without issues.
@newbyte
I have been using the same USB A to C cable for two years. I haven't noticed any issues with it.
