@Loukas@mastodon.nuSomething we should expect from Labour are improvements - but improvements that entrench power, not improvements that hand more power to social movements.
So we need to use any space we get from kicking out the far-right, at the same time as knowing that Labour will actively oppose this social movement activity because they want to concentrate power.
For example the appointment of philanthropist Timpson as prisons minister or scientist Vallance as science minister are good things, in that they'll lead to less harmful practices in those areas.
But the changes will be done in ways that fit into a corporate-dominated world, and will benefit this form of power, rather than ways that change any balance of power between people and politicians.
(This is a turn towards more paternalistic capitalism, it's not socialism)
